Hostels in Waikiki & Honolulu
Waikiki Beachside Hostel
Good friends and good times. If meeting other travelers and sharing fun and exciting adventures in Waikiki is high on your list, then Waikiki Beachside is the hostel for you!
This hostel is by far the biggest and busiest of the hostels in Waikiki. They also offer ammenities that you would be hard pressed to find at any other hostel in the area. They provide free wireless internet, free local calls from phones in every room, a free breakfast each morning, and more.
Waikiki Beachside is more than just a name, they are literally one minute walk from Waikiki Beach! There is a large open air lounge on the ground floor where travelers can kick back and exchange tales of thier adventures. They also have laundry facilities, surfboard rentals, and an internet cafe. The staff know the area well and are really helpful with information about where to go and what to do. They can even hook you up with super cheap phone cards, car & moped rentals, and discount tour bookings.

Hostelling International Waikiki
Quiet, well kept, gender segregated. Hostelling international is a network of hostels found all over the world. while individually owned, they must follow the policies of the Hostelling Internaional network.
The gender segregated only dorms move this hostel low on the list for couples, since you cannot stay in the same room. However it also makes this a good choice for young girls travelling alone for the first time. If you want to spend your time quietly without many of people around this may be for you.
While this hostel is not quite as close to the beach as some other hostels it is still easily walkable.

Polynesian Hostel
If the photo makes this look like a chilled out surf hostel then it is the perfect picture to represent the attitude here. While the Polynesian Hostel might not have the glitz and glamor of its larger neighbor, what it does have is charm.
The vibe at the Polynesian is relaxed and laid back, and everyone tends to be really friendly here. The rooms are reasonably clean, and the surf breaks of Waikiki Beach are just a minute's walk away. All in all the Polynesian Hostel is a good choice for surfers and backpackers who want a mellow relaxing stay.

Seaside Hawaiian Hostel
The seaside is one of the oldest hostels in Waikiki. Their location on Seaside Avenue puts them closer to the center of Waikiki with resturants and bars close by, it also puts them further from the beach than most Waikiki hostels, but as with the HI hostel it is still easily walkable.
Being nestled on a quiter side street also has its advantages, of all the Waikiki Hostels, this one feels less like its in a city than most others.

Pacific Ohana Hostel
This hostel is on Lemon Road close to the Beachside and the Polynesian. They have low rates, and are close to the beach. Pacific Ohana Hostel is owned by the same owner as the Island Hostel on Ala Moana Boulevard.
The Pacific Ohana Hostel has a nice looking website. I was unable to find any website for the Island Hostel which is why it does not have it's own listing.
